Director, Application Development

Duties:

  • Direct all activities and develop policies and procedures related to the design, analysis, testing, coding and implementation of applications.
  • Oversee iSeries HTTP Application Server / Websphere Application Server (WAS) / AWS Cloud Server / Rackspace Web Server / SLICE and Legacy Assurance Mobile Apps, Web Apps and Portal developers during the product development cycle to ensure technical development standards are being met and best practices are being followed.
  • Cultivate development talent, primarily Websphere Application Server (WAS) / Portal front end developers to support the project execution team.
  • Act as an in-house Mobile App / Web App / HTTP / WAS / Portal expert to support and coach teams and provide industry best practices.
  • Find and retain the best development talent by implementing a systematic approach to finding and growing the team’s talent.
  • Develop and communicate to senior management and other internal partners on the team’s vision, strategy, metrics, annual goals, and success factors.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s in Information System, Computer Science or closely related plus 3 years’ experience application development in the life insurance sector and as a team leader. 3 years experience working with JavaScript, CSS, HTML, PHP, Swift, Python and SQL, and mobile and web programming.

Application Development Manager

Duties:

  • Managing the development department in applications design, creation, coding, debugging, and testing.
  • Understanding client needs, designing protottypes, writing code, performing testing, and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Architect new enhancements and solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Design, Develop Applications for Insurance Agents and Clients using various platforms and technologies.
  • Maintain and Support current SLICE and Legacy Assurance web applications, Agent and Customer web portals.
  • Lead a team of developers for specific Web Application and Portal development.
  • Provide budgeting forecast & project costs.
  • Ability to manage multiple user requests efficiently and work with manager to schedule the release for implementation.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s in Information systems, Computer Science or closely related plus 1 year experience application development in the life insurance sector. 1 year experience working with JavaScript, CSS, HTML, PHP, and SQL.
